Metalock Brasil successfully completed a specialized repair service for a major automotive company at its plant in Piracicaba (São Paulo, Brazil).

The Metalock technical team was responsible for the recovery of two bearings from a 2300-ton press, which showed significant wear on their support faces, compromising the equipment’s performance.

The repair process involved on-site machining and welding the bearings, using precision tools such as a Portable Boring Machine and a Laser Tracker to ensure perfect alignment.

The work began with the removal of irregular material, followed by welding, with a filling of approximately 10 mm on each bearing. The process was completed with machining to adjust the parts to the required technical specifications, ensuring surface roughness within the tolerance of 0.8 to 3.2Ra.

The operation was concluded within the stipulated deadline, without incidents, reinforcing Metalock Brasil’s commitment to quality and safety.

This project once again demonstrates Metalock’s expertise in maintaining and recovering complex industrial equipment, ensuring the continuity of operations for large industries.
