Metalock Brasil renews ABS certification for lifeboat and lifesaving equipment inspection and repair

Metalock Brasil has successfully renewed its certification as a Recognized Service Supplier by ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), one of the world’s leading classification societies in the maritime industry.

The new certificate, valid until August 2028, recognizes Metalock Brasil’s technical expertise in carrying out maintenance, thorough examination, operational testing, overhaul, and repair of:

  • Lifeboats (including free-fall lifeboats),
  • Rescue boats and fast rescue boats,
  • Launching appliances,
  • On-load and off-load release gears,
  • Davit-launched liferafts.

Importance for the maritime sector

The ABS certificate is a mark of reliability and quality. It ensures that the services provided by Metalock Brasil follow the highest international safety standards, in compliance with IMO (International Maritime Organization) regulations and Resolution MSC.402(96), which governs the maintenance and inspection of lifesaving appliances.
