Metalock Brasil has recently completed a specialized on-site machining service on a washing diffuser, equipment used in the industrial process of a company in the pulp and paper sector, located in the state of Bahia, Brazil.

The service was carried out using portable machining equipment, allowing geometric correction of the surfaces directly at the installation site, without the need for disassembly or removal of the component, contributing to the optimization of the plant’s maintenance schedule.

The scope of work included the facing of four guide tube housing flanges of the diffuser, an operation essential to ensure proper seating, alignment and sealing of the assembly. For execution, Metalock Brasil’s technical team performed the assembly, alignment and leveling of a portable boring and facing machine, model BB5000, ensuring the dimensional accuracy required for the application.

During the intervention, the contact surfaces were machined with material removal only in the areas necessary to eliminate imperfections and misalignment. The amount of material removed varied for each flange, strictly respecting the technical limits defined for the equipment and the process.

After completion of the machining operations, all surfaces were properly measured and the equipment was demobilized for subsequent operations until the service was fully concluded. The work performed was inspected and approved by the client, confirming compliance with the established technical requirements.
